Dr Jessica O’Connor grew up in Central Western and Northern NSW. She moved to Townsville to study Medicine at James Cook University, which further cemented her interest in rural, remote and Indigenous health. Following graduation, she worked in Townsville and Ingham Hospitals; however, in 2016 to be closer to family she made the move to Sydney to begin General Practice training. She found working in a different environment extremely rewarding and interesting, however, felt the need to return to the bush. Ties to North Queensland have always been quite strong, having married a local Port Douglas man.
Dr Jess has a special interest in paediatrics, women’s health, preventative medicine, sexual health and antenatal care. However, she enjoys all aspects of General Practice and getting to know her patients.
Outside of work she enjoys swimming, martial arts, good food and exploring the outdoors with her Husband.
