A short scenic drive north of Port Douglas brings you to Mossman, a charming regional centre for the surrounding sugar cane industry, where our centre is located in the main street diagonally opposite the high school.
Five minutes west is the Mossman Gorge, home to the Kuku Yalanji people, the area’s traditional Aboriginal landowners. Here the Mossman river tumbles its way over and around huge granite boulders, creating cool, clear freshwater swimming holes alongside the rainforest of the World Heritage listed Daintree National Park.
Just north of Mossman is the local golf course, pristine Newell Beach, Miallo and Whyanbeel where the “Karnak Playhouse” outdoor theatre is tucked away offering a rare opportunity to experience live theatre in a unique outdoor setting under the stars.
Take time to explore Wonga Beach and further on to the quaint Daintree Village with a ferry river crossing taking you to the tropical rainforests of Cape Tribulation. The experience never ends.
