Information for Port Village and Mossman Medical Centres with respect to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) updated 12/10/2020
As public health restrictions are gradually relaxed in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic, our plan is to remain both sensible and vigilant, endeavouring to protect our staff, patients and visitors to our practice from the risk of COVID-19 as far as practicable.
The following additional precautions have been introduced.
Staff, patients and visitors to our practice are to maintain a distance of 1.5 metres where practicable. The maximum capacity of the Port Village Medical Centre wait room is 9 people. The maximum capacity of the Mossman Medical Centre wait room is 6 people. We have also placed some chairs outside of the premises to assist with social distancing and these are cleaned regularly.
We are conducting screening questions for all patients on arrival at the surgery.
All patients who are deemed at risk of Coronavirus as per current guidelines are either offered a telephone consultation or redirected to the Drive-Through Covid-19 Testing Centre at Mossman for testing and assessment.
In addition, all patients with any cough cold or flu symptoms are seen in a separate temporary premise adjacent to our Mossman Medical Centre.
We have introduced very rigorous hygiene measures to all areas of the medical centres.
All magazines and toys have been removed from the waiting rooms and all surfaces and door handles are cleaned and disinfected after every patient. High grade hand sanitizer is placed at the entry door and all patients are asked to use it on entering and leaving the premises.
We continue to offer telephone consultations to high risk patients as well as face to face consultations.
To assist the local public health unit to contact trace in the event a person has attended either medical centre while they were infectious with COVID-19, any person entering the medical centres who does not have an appointment is asked to complete the Contact Tracing Register.
