Accredited medicals for a wide range of purposes including AMSA (maritime), recreational and occupational dive medicals, driver's licence medicals, WorkCover and pre-employment assessments. Please advise the type of medical when booking so we can allocate sufficient time.

Culturally sensitive health care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, including chronic disease management, health checks and coordination with community health services. We acknowledge and respect the Eastern Kuku Yalanji and Yirraganydji communities on whose lands we practise.

Skin Health

Skin Cancer Checks

Full skin examinations and spot checks in one of Australia's highest UV-exposure regions. Our GPs can assess, biopsy and treat suspicious lesions or refer to a specialist where required. Regular checks are strongly recommended for residents and long-term visitors to the tropics.

Ear & Hearing

Ear Health & Hearing Test

Assessment and management of ear infections, wax impaction, tinnitus and hearing concerns. In-practice hearing tests available. Particularly relevant for divers, swimmers and those working in high-noise environments around the reef and marine industry.

Surgery

Minor Surgical Procedures

In-clinic procedures including skin lesion removal, biopsies, wound suturing, cyst excision and joint injections. Our practices are well-equipped to handle a broad range of minor procedures, reducing the need for hospital attendance.

Eye Health

Eye Health

Assessment of eye infections, injuries, UV-related conditions and referral for specialist eye care. Given the high UV environment of the tropical north, regular eye health checks are particularly important for residents and outdoor workers.

Cardiovascular

Heart Health

Cardiovascular risk assessment, blood pressure monitoring, cholesterol management, ECG and ongoing management of heart conditions. In an emergency such as chest pain or tightness, please call 000 immediately rather than attending the practice.

Respiratory

Lung Function Test

Spirometry and lung function testing for the assessment and monitoring of asthma, COPD and other respiratory conditions. Often required for occupational medicals and pre-employment assessments in relevant industries.

Pathology

QML Pathology Collection

On-site QML Pathology collection for blood tests, urine samples and other specimens — no need to travel to a separate collection centre. Results are reviewed by your GP and you will be contacted if any follow-up is required. Please do not call for results by email.

Pre-travel consultations, destination-specific vaccine recommendations, malaria prophylaxis, traveller's diarrhoea management and post-travel health checks. With Port Douglas as a gateway to international tourism, we have extensive experience with travel health across the Asia-Pacific region.
