Social Media Policy
Our guidelines for the use of social media by members of our practice team, in accordance with RACGP standards.
Definition
'Social media' is defined as online social networks used to disseminate information through online interaction. This includes — but is not limited to — Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), YouTube, TikTok, Google Reviews, blogs and online forums.
Policy
Regardless of whether social media is used for business-related activity or personal reasons, the following standards apply to all members of our practice team, including general practitioners.
Our practice does not maintain a social media presence — we do not operate official accounts on any social media platform.
Procedure — personal social media use
Any social media posts by members of our practice team on their personal social media platforms must:
- Include the following disclaimer in a reasonably prominent place if identifying themselves as an employee of the practice in any posting:
"The views expressed in this post are mine and do not reflect the views of the practice, business, committees or boards that I am a member of."
- Respect copyright, privacy, fair use, financial disclosure and other applicable laws when publishing on social media platforms.
Social media activities — both internally and externally — must be in line with this policy at all times.
